Active Ingredients: Ciprofloxacin

The commercial name of the medication may differ from the brand one. Generic Cipro manufactured by Cadila Pharmaceuticals is available under commercial name Ciprodac.

Therapeutic actions:

Broad-spectrum antibiotic. By the chemical structure Cipro is most similar to norfloxacin. By the antimicrobial spectrum, ciprofloxacin is very similar to other fluoroquinolones, but it has a relatively high activity; it is approximately 3 - 8 times more active than norfloxacin.

Indications:

Infectious diseases of:

  • respiratory tract
  • skin and soft tissues
  • bones and joints
  • gastrointestinal tract, including infections caused by salmonella, shigella, campylobacter and other pathogens
  • urinary tract
  • gonococcal infection, meningitis
  • postoperative infectious complications, sepsis and other pyoinflammatory processes
  • infections in cancer patients

  • hypersensitivity
  • renal dysfunctions
  • epilepsy or seizures
  • pregnancy, breastfeeding
  • pediatric and adolescent patients
  • with caution: elderly patients
